Responsibilities
AMS Technologies is seeking to fill a DevOps/DevSecOps Software Engineer (III) to support our DANS team in San Antonio, TX. The Software Engineer III will provide software development/engineering support for one or more software development teams. Specific duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Support development/enhancement of new/existing software architecture documents.
- Develop/integrate new software/solutions into the system.
- Collaborate with operational community to capture future requirements.
- Participate in multidisciplinary research and collaboration with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of software for host based and network sensors and data analysis platforms.
- Collaborates with system operators, system maintainers, engineers, application developers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to mature requirements.
- Contribute to maturing the DevSecOps culture by utilizing industry best practices.
- Work as part of a cross-functional team that follows Scrum Agile practices.
- Mentor junior developers and engineers
- Develop and integrate software components into the system.
- Develop new capabilities for the system.
- Full-stack software architecture, engineering, design, implementation, and maintenance
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance w/Ability to obtain TS/SCI
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience or Associate Degree and 8 years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Architecture, and design.
- Experience with software architecture, engineering, design
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Experience with Kubernetes

- CKA/CKAD Certification Highly preferred
- Experience with one or more front end languages such as:
- Experience working under Agile and/or DevSecOps (DevOps is also acceptable)
- Working knowledge of Confluence, Jira, and GitLab or similar DevOps/DevSecOps tools
- Part-time remote may be available.
- Candidate must be able to work on-site at least 2 days a week.
Desired
- Experience with one or more Virtualization (ex: ESXi, KVM, XEN) solutions
- Familiarization with Software Engineering best practices and design principles
- Familiarization with software coding standards (PEP8, etc.)
- Familiarization with Air Force Defensive Cyberspace systems and programs
- Familiarization with Bitbucket, SonarQube, ACAS, OSCAP, Nexus, Bro/Zeek, Suricata, and Moloch/Arkime
- Experience with Test-Driven Development
